This Parish Ministry in late 1990’s by Rev. Dominick Cutrone when he became pastor. He saw the need to start the Ministry. After a long search he found Sr. Jane Talbot, a Sister of Mercy, to fill the position. Together they established the Ministry. Sr. Jane’s endless energy and dedication made it a vital part of the parish. Under her leadership she started a Food Pantry, and later a mobile Soup Kitchen, Senior Group, Thrift Shop, Bereavement Group, Arts and Crafts Group and a Nursing Home Group that visited local homes monthly. The Ministry also provided home care for the elderly. The parish welcomed all these activities and the parish flourished. Volunteers were always available.
Unfortunately, with time, some groups ended because of logistic changes. Today the Food Pantry, the Homeless Ministry(soup kitchen), Senior Group and Thrift Shop are still alive and doing well thanks to the many who reach out to the community. Pastoral Ministry also oversees the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who serve at mass and also visit the home bound with the Eucharist. Because of the pandemic home visits have been suspended. Workshops are offered by the Diocese.
